Mercedes Fraser is an Eastern Kentucky native with a passion for student success and community progress. Mercedes is interested in applying social theory and practical processes to community issues to establish effective and sustainable solutions.

Mercedes is a Senior Extension Associate at CEDIK who holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Community and Leadership Development with a minor in Agricultural Economics from the University of Kentucky’s College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment. Her focus is on Youth Engagement, Rural Health, and Workforce Development. She works on youth programming with a community design emphasis, community health needs assessments, and workforce development programming.  Mercedes hopes to engage rural youth in both identifying and cultivating solutions to issues in their community through design and leadership development.
