Telehealth Adoption in Kentucky Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic
Released June 2023. From the beginning of the outbreak, Telehealth was sought as a way to maintain access to health care while keeping both patient and providers safe from exposure to COVID-19. On March 24, 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) declared that the use of Telehealth was vital to combat COVID-19. However, not all hospitals had adopted Telehealth prior to the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, and therefore, not all hospitals were equally prepared to respond in a timely manner.
