Professional Biography
Cortney Moses is the Community Arts Agent for the Whitley County Cooperative Extension Service. Cortney began her career with extension in 2012 before becoming an agent in 2015. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Louisville in 2009 and later obtained her Master’s degree in Social Responsibilities and Sustainable Communities from Western Kentucky University.
Mrs. Moses uses her experience in the visual arts to teach an array of programming in the community including, but not limited to, ceramics, sculpture, book making, and heritage arts like basket making. Her own sculpture installations are inspired by her connections to the mountains and culture of Appalachia, as well as her love of the environment and sustainable farming.
Cortney sees her role in the Community as a connector of people. She loves bringing artists together and building unity and connections through place and art.
