Professional Biography
Susan Miller is a Community Arts Extension Agent for Boone County Cooperative Extension. She earned her Bachelors of Music in Music Therapy from the University of Evansville, Indiana. Upon degree completion, Susan received her board certification from the American Music Therapy Association and served as a music therapist at ADEC, Inc. in Elkhart County, Indiana, providing music interventions to address social skills, communication, motor skills and more. Along with other roles, she has nearly 15 years of experience in leadership, coaching and project planning and implementation.
While her expertise is music, Susan has a lifelong passion for anything involving creative expression. She grew up in a household surrounded by arts and crafts supplies, a sewing machine, her dad’s record player, and even a typewriter. (Yes. A typewriter.) Susan’s strongest belief is that we are ALL capable of creativity and play, regardless of our perceived ability. She has a particular fondness for working with senior populations and individuals with developmental disabilities.
When not at work, you will probably find Susan outside at a local park, hiking with her fiancé, Ryan, and their adorable Cockalier, Oliver, Duke of Cumberland.
