Mission

The Mission of CEDIK is to provide education, research and assistance to people, communities, and organizations so they are empowered to shape their own futures.


Vision

CEDIK’s vision is to be the key source of education and research to benefit the lives of Kentucky’s individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and communities through community and economic development


Goals

CEDIK has four primary goals.

1. Education, Training, and Support for County Extension Agents

Improve the practice of economic, agricultural, family, social, and community development in Kentucky through targeted educational programs and support for county Extension agents. 

2. Direct Service for Kentucky’s Communities

Help build and strengthen economic and community capacity in Kentucky communities through programs and services such as a) leadership development, b) civic engagement, c) strategic planning, and d) economic development.

3. Instruction

Coordinate with departments to strengthen the graduate degree program for county agents as well as organize a certificate program for community and economic development professionals and individuals interested in becoming “Master Facilitators” or “Master Community Developers”. 

4.Research and Communication

Conduct research and disseminate findings on issues related to economic and community development in Kentucky. Disseminate community and economic development information through articles, toolkits, webinars and other outlets.
