Telehealth Adoption in Kentucky Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic

Released June 2023. From the beginning of the outbreak, Telehealth was sought as a way to maintain access to health care while keeping both patient and providers safe from exposure to COVID-19. On March 24, 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) declared that the use of Telehealth was vital to combat COVID-19. However, not all hospitals had adopted Telehealth prior to the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, and therefore, not all hospitals were equally prepared to respond in a timely manner. Was Kentucky prepared to respond to the COVID-19 health emergency, in terms of Telehealth adoption?

2022 Report Update: The Importance of Agriculture in Kentucky

The total economic impact of agriculture in Kentucky in 2019 equaled $49.6 billion, representing an 8.8% increase from the economic impact of $45.6 billion in 2012. Over a period of five years, the total number of farms in Kentucky has fallen from 77,064 operations in 2012 to 75,966 operations in 2017.
